Matt Striker say his comments regarding Matt Riddle during the MLW broadcast were part of his character Portrayal, Admitting they were insensitive

Matt Striker posted a statement on his Twitter/X account following receiving a lot of criticism for his comments during the game with Matt Riddle and Jacob Fatu at the MLW Kings of Colosseum event, which was broadcast in Triller TV.

Striker made the following comments during his live show:

“Let’s discuss the big issue The public’s court would want to witness Jacob Fatu slap the taste from Matt Riddle’s lips. However, the public’s court doesn’t decide to convict. Sorry, I realize this is the reality of the world is ours, yet this is not the norm.”

“He can do what the hell he likes. He can kick your ass. Anyone else out there who has issues with him? Go to him on the street to see what happens. The conversation is over.”

Striker later wrote about X: “Playing a character isn’t always simple, however, getting that desired reaction is. Sorry.”

The tweet continued, with a tweet that he followed up: “I play a heel (bad guy) character in the world of wrestling. It’s my job to bring out the ire of the fans and it’s their responsibility to get their ire be raised. Tonight, we ALL accomplished our tasks. It’s a synergistic relationship. However, keep in mind that this is an individual. My task is to prompt you to respond.”

Today, he said that his critics are correct in their “tone deaf” remarks. The Striker tweeted “I’ve been thinking about it for long time. I couldn’t sleep. My critics are correct. I was not right. Tone deaf. Making use of the guise of art or character representation is self-preservation. Thanks to all who shed in the spotlight on this. Now it is my turn to be in the light. I will do better.”

Before joining MLW, Striker worked for Impact Wrestling and WWE, mostly for the role of announcer. According to his bio on social media the present position is host of the show The Bettor’s Eye on the MLB Network.
