WWE Stays Tight-Lipped on Rumored Matchup The Rock and Roman Reigns

The WWE Monday Night Raw commenced with the announcement of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Roman Reigns, with speculation surrounding their potential match at WrestleMania 40. If WWE decides to change course, there are alternative possibilities.

A surprise segment in The Rock featured Jinder Mahal as the lead. Rock, referring to the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, ended the segment by asking his audience whether they should sit at the bar, in the booth, or at their feet during dinner that night.

It’s believed that the tipping point for their much-debated match was unofficial, but it remains unclear. After some consideration, the match for WrestleMania 38 in 2022 was postponed until the following year.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there is no official announcement at this time and that Johnson’s actions were planned to build on his previous match. Mania is the obvious location for the fight, but it could be held at the Elimination Chamber in Perth on February 24th. It is possible that the Saudi Arabian show before Mania will feature it since they pay a significant amount. Reigns and Rhodes could potentially face each other on different nights of WrestleMania 40 due to the possibility of a potential fight. Rhodes was thought to be happening before Rock’s return.
