Ex-WWE stars comeback Plans unveiled

Two former WWE wrestlers are set to return to the company, as speculation has been brewing for several months.

WWE is once again featuring The Authors of Pain. AOP and Ellering have been rumored to be returning to WWE, with the possibility of them appearing in NXT since 2022.

Following a successful run in NXT and frequent changes to the main roster, AOP was dismissed in 2020. Fightful Select initially reported that AOP was under contract and expected to make a comeback on the SmackDown television network shortly.

A vignette on Friday’s SmackDown marked the beginning of anticipation for their return. The SmackDown: New Year’s Revolution will feature a return appearance by AOP and their manager, Paul Ellering, as announced by Pwinsider on January 5, 2024
