Fresh tag team name trademarked by WWE

WWE has applied for a trademark renewal following the announcement of the name of the Tag team that will be appearing on SmackDown.

The company applied its trademark application for “New Catch Republic” on February 18, in the category of entertainment services with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The following is the description of the trademark:

Mark for New Catch REPUBLIC(tm) the trademark registration is designed to cover a broad range of entertainment services, specifically wrestling shows and performances performed by an entertainer or professional wrestler delivered through broadcast media, including radio and television as well as through the internet or commercial online services, offering news and information about wrestling through a global computer network, providing information related to entertainment and sports via an internet-based community site creating a website for the area of entertainment for sports information, fans club-related services specifically organizing sporting events in the world of wrestling for members of the fan club and arranging social occasions for entertainment for fans of the wrestling club and distributing online newsletters in the field of sports entertainment, and blogs, or online journals on the subject of entertainment in sports.

It’s the new tag team name for Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate who have been working recently following Bate was Dunne’s surprise tag teammate.

In last week’s SmackDown on the SmackDown show, during a backstage interview, the team said they needed a fresh start, and also a new name. The group recently won an invitation to a Tag Team Championship match against Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and Damian Priest at the Elimination Chamber on Saturday.
