AEW might be missing out on a promising superstar with a possible return to WWE coming up in the event that things go as certain people within WWE believe. In a time where WWE is releasing huge contracts to current talents and those who are who are on the market for free agents It’s a popular location for some.

The journey

Andrade El Idolo could have a chance to leave AEW following his entry into the company in 2021 after his WWE exit. Through the entirety of his AEW tenure, he appeared to be unhappy in the organization and has faced some issues on the backstage too.

In the last quarter of 2022, he underwent surgery to repair a ruptured pectoral muscle that he was struggling with. Andrade was back in the summer of 2022 and has made mentions to WWE since his return which has led to speculation that his return to the organization. Andrade’s AEW contract is likely to expire in 2024, but the time may be added to it due to the time lost due to injuries.

Looking ahead to the future

A WWE return is logical, since His wife Charlotte Flair, works for the organization. El Idolo was a participant of AEW Continental Classic of the Blue League. Eddie Kingston vs. Jon Moxley will be played in the finals on weekend on the final day of Worlds End.

In the most recent issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer mentioned that during an event that took place following the conclusion of a CMLL game, Andrade said he has lots of doors open in 2024. He’s just not certain which one he’ll pick.

Meltzer reported that “I am aware that people who are in WWE anticipate his return. I have also spoken to those who are near to him suggest that he might return but is willing to stay in the event that Tony Khan makes a better deal over WWE.”

Andrade is also keen to be a part of NJPW since he was hoping to compete at FantasticaMania on February 12, however it isn’t in his schedule.
