John Cena, who portrayed Peacemaker in “The Suicide Squad” film in 2021, won over the audience and was later given his own spinoff series of films on the MAX streaming service. This superhero, who is devoted to peace, would be willing to sacrifice the lives of innocent people for it.

In 2022, the show premiered and was soon followed by a second season. It was written and directed by James Gunn. During the season finale, HBO Max Original series made history by becoming MAX’s most massive single-day release ever.
The series will start shooting this summer, as confirmed by Gunn who is now the co-head of DC Studios with actress Jennifer Holland. Despite previous plans, the series is now being shot simultaneously with his new Superman movie, which started production on February 29th.

Peacemaker was initially planned to be filmed once the Superman movie was finished. The series also explored the background of Peacemaker, who was trying to stop alien invasion.
