Sharing his disappointment, Goldberg slams Vince McMahon on retirement match promise
WWE

The way Goldberg chose to end his career has left him feeling unhappy with both WWE and Vince McMahon.

WWE Period

Goldberg’s last WWE match was in 2022 at WWE Elimination Chamber, where he lost to Roman Reigns and his contract ended later that year. The WWE Hall of Famer had revealed earlier this year that he might embark on a solo tour of four cities before delving into the possibility of entering prestigious promotions.

Promise

Goldberg stated in a previous interview that WWE has promised him he will be given his retirement match, but they have not followed through.

Vince McMahon was criticized by Goldberg for not fulfilling his commitment to retire. Vince is akin to Dana White. His leadership is always on top of everything, and in truth, he gave me the benefit of being able to put my wife and son in the front row and perform again in front of them. I was in debt to him, but then he asked me to put Roman Reigns over when we traveled to Saudi Arabia, and I had COVID. I have a memory of calling him from the side who said, “Let’s go over this.” If you give me a retirement match, I’ll do it.
