Cody Rhodes can now say that he’s a Royal Rumble winner again as he beat another 29 WWE stars in the 30-Man Royal Rumble match on Saturday night in Tampa, FL.

The victory

Rhodes made this mark last year, when he returned to WWE after sustaining an injury that left him in a wheelchair for months. He was able to take on Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at WrestleMania 38 but fell short.

With his victory at this year’s Rumble, He was able to earn the opportunity to compete in a championship match at WrestleMania 40, which took place in the month of April. Rhodes along with CM Punk came in as the last two wrestlers in the fight. After the match, Rhodes kept staring at Reigns who was sitting in a press room watching the fight, signalling that they’d return for a rematch in Mania.

Tribute

As can be seen in the video in the video below Rhodes was seen paying respects to Elite (Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks) as he made the sweet signature of Omega’s pistol signature.
