In his WWE Raw promo, Cody Rhodes included lines that harked back to a previous segment in AEW
Cody Rhodes delivered a scathing response to The Rock during Monday’s WWE Raw, with many within WWE and fans feeling that he needed to unleash his full potential following The Rock’s promo on SmackDown the previous week.
It’s worth noting that WWE’s recent memo reminding talent to maintain PG language in their promos remains in effect.
Rhodes is set to team up with World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins to take on The Rock and Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns on the first night of WrestleMania 40. Following this, Rhodes will challenge Reigns for the title on the second night of the event.
During his Raw promo, Rhodes cleverly incorporated callback lines to a 2019 segment on Dynamite where he was in a feud with Chris Jericho.
Rhodes referred to The Rock as a “carny succubus,” a term he had previously used to describe Jericho. Additionally, he asserted that both The Rock and Jericho perceive themselves as more crucial than the current generation of talent, insinuating that they rely on younger wrestlers more than the younger generation needs their guidance.
