Are Key TNA Stars Set to Leave Soon?

TNA Wrestling is facing the potential departure of two of its top stars in the near future.

Recent Shifts The promotion has witnessed significant changes in recent months. Impact Wrestling reintroduced the TNA brand at the Hard to Kill pay-per-view event in January, marking it as TNA’s most successful pay-per-view event to date.

However, amidst these changes, Scott D’Amore has been replaced as TNA President by Anthony Cicione, leaving talent discontent with the management. The upcoming PPV event for TNA, Rebellion, is scheduled to take place at the Palms Casino Resort on April 20.

Possible Departures According to reports from Pwinsider, The Motor City Machine Guns duo, comprising Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, are slated to appear for Smash Wrestling in London, Ontario, on April 21, which coincides with the post-PPV TV tapings. This development is intriguing since TNA typically utilizes them for such tapings.

The report speculates, “The belief among some we have spoken with is that Shelley and Sabin’s existing TNA deals are expiring shortly, possibly as soon as the end of March.” Their decision to participate in the independent show instead of the tapings suggests that an agreement may not be imminent between the parties.

Shelley and Sabin formed the tag team in 2007 and have achieved success in various promotions, including ROH and NJPW. During their tenure in TNA, they both held prestigious titles such as the World and X-Division Championships. Together, they boast a notable record of being three-time Tag Team Champions
