In this Thursday’s WWE WrestleMania 40 Kickoff event, Cody Rhodes announced he will be challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at WrestleMania 40.

It was expected to happen that WWE will announce The Rock vs. Reigns at the event as scheduled, and Rhodes was anticipated to face World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.

Rock against. Reigns was planned in the dark last month after Dwayne Johnson was named by his position on the TKO Board of Directors and part of the deal was that Johnson had been adamantly pushing that the fight be held regardless of Rhodes having said in the past year that he was determined to complete his story.

Rollins’ Take

In an interview with FOX News, Rollins addressed the issue.

“It’s exactly what happens when powerful individuals exercise their influence,” Rollins said. “They believe they can have the right to do whatever they like and they can get away with it which is a slap. It’s just so annoying. I can’t think of a better way to describe it. I’m guessing that it (resulted) with Cody receiving what was he wanted. We’ll see what’s next to win Cody to win the World Heavyweight title. However, Cody has said it the best way. It’s bulls—-. It’s pretty disgusting to me.”

Rollins has been a victim of trying to convince Rhodes on the possibility of taking on him, because his belief in World Title and its potential to become bigger. He isn’t a bad guy for wanting to complete his story.

History repeats itself

Rollins claimed that CM Punk was a victim of similar issues with The Rock in 2013 when The Rock returned and won his WWE Title at the Royal Rumble prior to hosting WrestleMania together with John Cena. The event came after he been the main event at Mania with John Cena prior to that in the year prior.

“But you know, I’m coming back on the directors’ board, as I said, man it’s like gross. I’m not happy about it. I think we should get involved in this. I’m not sure what the next step will be.”
