Jim Ross Delights in the Warm Reception from Fans at AEW Dynamite

In the most recent episode of the “Grilling JR” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross gave an update regarding his health condition:

“It’s quite healthy,” Ross said about his health. “I had an MRI today. They wanted to ensure there was nothing wrong in the bone of my tibia. The tibia is where the problem with radiation is situated. That’s why I haven’t had the results yet. I had it checked on the same day. Sooner or later we’re going to know the results. It doesn’t seem like there’s anything I should be concerned about however, my doctor is more wary than I am. This wound has healed however that, so long the blood sugar issue is visible the wound will be a challenge to recover. I would have liked to know this a year earlier. However this is what it is and I’ll do my best to make it work. It’s been my mantra for years. The wound isn’t gone. It’s painful however, I’ve become accustomed to it, in a manner that is as morbid like hell however, it’s what it is. It’s important to fight and I’m determined to fight on and eventually overcome this issue.”

Ross spoke about being asked to host the main event of AEW Dynamite in the state he grew up in:

“I enjoyed my moment in Oklahoma. Tony Khan let me sit during a match along with the announcers, which was awesome. Fans were obviously delighted to see me, and it made me feel very happy. It’s all fine, you know. It’s all about persevering, staying positive, and make it to the end of the road. We’re here right now. We’re on our way to the end of the line. We’re still not there but we’re much closer than we’ve been before.”

“I did well with it. The men (Adam Cole, Mike Bennett, Matt Taven, Roderick Strong, Wardlow) They all must be booked. They must all be used. This is why we’re here. Five guys who are all crucial to the business. They’ve not had any solid or, I’m not going to call it direction, but they’ve had a distinct identity. This gives five men the chance to quote unquote overcome. All of them have competent players. They all deserve a chance to play, so take the ball, fellas. This is what you have to accomplish.”

“Joe has, through time, proved to be extremely durable and the work he has done is credible. I’m a huge Samoa Joe proponent. He’s the best person to do the job. He is able to make good matches with anyone as the heel or babyface, that’s why it’s important to be able to dance with various partners. So, yes, I enjoyed this move. I also liked how Joe is the best, and I love the fact that he’s able to work with any person. He’s an experienced veteran. He provides leadership. It’s impossible to discern his work. He’s very strong in this respect. That’s why, again, we’re proud of him.”
