Matt Hardy: 'I'm Holding an AEW Contract for Several Years'

In the most recent installment of the “Extreme Life of Matt Hardy” podcast, Matt Hardy shared an update regarding his contract negotiations with AEW.

“I currently have an AEW contract placed before me for the next few years,” Matt disclosed. “I am carefully reviewing its contents and considering my options for the future. While there are certainly appealing aspects, I want to ensure that I fully understand all the details of the contract and that it aligns with my goals. As I often mention, I am aware that my time in this profession is limited, and I am determined to make the most of the remaining years, whatever path I choose. It’s essential to me to be fully optimized in whatever endeavor I pursue. While I am genuinely thrilled at the prospect of returning to AEW and continuing to work with them in the foreseeable future, I am also exploring other possibilities. Within the next month, I anticipate having a clearer picture of what lies ahead.”

“Considering the legacy I want to leave behind and acknowledging the finite nature of my career, certain factors hold significant importance to me,” Matt continued. “Specifically, the scheduling of my commitments is crucial as I prioritize spending quality time with my family. Additionally, if I were to collaborate with Jeff, it’s imperative to me that the Hardy brand is showcased to its fullest potential. Ultimately, I am driven by the desire for the Hardys to conclude their careers on a high note, and that remains my primary focus.”
