Many people were surprised by Wight’s decision to leave WWE and join AEW in February 2021, where he worked as an announcer and wrestled some matches.

A few weeks ago, Chris Jericho and Wight reteamed on the ChrisJerichO Cruise in their old WWE tag team attire for their match.
The Yes Network’s Jack Curry was asked about the transition from WWE to AEW during his visit to support the New York Yankees on Sunday.
“It has been a wonderful experience. I was fortunate enough to work for a major corporation across the globe. My objective at this stage is to find a way to work with reputable companies that allow me to share my knowledge with younger talent, enhance their performance, and participate in the ring scene. This is possibly the most remarkable thing that ever happened to me. The fans who continue to watch me do my thing make me feel blessed and grateful.
