In a period when AEW has lost a few key people behind the scenes, the company has lost another wrestler. QT Marshall has notably left the promotion following a growing sense of frustration was triggered.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select has reported the news that Shawn Spears is the latest star to quit the promotion.

Spears has been on The AEW group since company began in 2019, following his WWE time as Tye Dillinger. There, he ended up winning with his gimmick of ten counts.

He was particularly infamously feuding against Cody Rhodes in the early weeks of the promotion when he accidentally smashed open Cody Rhodes, the former AEW star by hitting him in the chair into the head. He hasn’t wrestled in the promotion since September’s AEW the All Out Zero Hour. His last time he wrestled on Dynamite was in May 2022.

Spears as well as his spouse Cassie Lee announced earlier this week that they are expecting their second baby.

According to the report “Spears will become a free agent 1st January and his separation was a mutually beneficial agreement between him with All Elite Wrestling.”
