Contract may expire of NJPW Champion next month

New Japan Pro Wrestling and Wrecky Kingdom 18, their most significant event of the year, will kick off January 2024. NJPW is a WWE WrestleMania variation. Still, it’s also a moment for bargaining.

The promotion is currently in talks with its talent, including WWE’s interest and Kazuchika Okada.

According to Fightful Select, El Phantasmo, the NJPW Strong Tag Team Champion, had given numerous indications that his contract was over on January 31 and he would definitely not sign with them again.

Sean Ross Sapp was informed by him that he was in the process of signing a contract, but it remains uncertain where / which promotions are interested in him.

AEW had been interested in him since 2019. It is uncertain whether Hikuleo, his tag team partner, was signed by WWE last year.
